ENTERTAINMENTS.

EVERYBODY’S.' MAE MURRAY IN “PEACOCK ALLEY.” An attraction, of dazzling brilliance and. ravishing splendor is “Peacock Alley” with. Mae Murray, showing tonight at Everybody’s. This presentation, with all its splendor and magnificence, marks the blonde star’s triumphant screen offering. The picture is gorgeously coejtumed and excellently directed, with a story that runs smoothly to its triumphant conclusion. It pjotures the romance of a famed Parisian dancer, who falls in love with a small town American youth and then finds that his home folks will not accept her because she has been a dancer. The couple go to New Yojrk, but trouble comes thick and fast upon the two, who for a time find life a very drab affair. As the dancer in this colorful production, Mae Murray scores with the finest bit of characterisation she had ever done. The star is supported by Monte Blue in the leading role and there is a big cast of other iplayers. “Peacock Alley’ is the second of the big Metro specials this year and ranks with the season’s greatest successes. Seats can now ibe reserved at Collier’s. THE PEOPLE’S. LAST NIGHT OF “UNDER OATH.” “Finer than any previous Hammer'stein picture” is indeed high praise for the’Selznick production, “Under Oath,” screening finally to-night at the People’s, yet that seems to be ,the consensus of opinion held by those who have seen the film. “Under Oath” is a remarkable interesting study of the struggle constantly taking place between the newly rich and the old established order of aristocrats, who have held their place in the social sphere for a number of generations. Elaine Kammerstein, the star, is said to be. furnished with a role that not alone provides a glittering frame for her rare charms, but one that exacts of her art in such a way as to easily establish it as one of the greatest of h#r many performances. Miss Hammerstein is supported by such prominent players as Niles Welch, Mahlon Hamilton and Wallace MacDonald. Episode 4 of “The Blue Fox” also screens finally to-night.
