CHILD’S DEATH.

DIES IN MOTHER’S ARMS. A child named Irene Mary Ann Fraser, aged. 3 years and 4 months, the youngest daughter of Alex. John and Ivy Fraser, of Warea, died yesterday on the way into New Plymouth to be attended, by a doctor. The mother states that the child developed a bad cough on Friday and was kept in bed all day Saturday. As its gasping seemed worse yesterday it was resolved to bring the cliiid into New Plymouth, a motor-car being requisitioned about noon yesterday, but the child died in its mother’s arms just before Oakura was reached. An examination by Dr. Home only confirmed this. The child, it is stated, had’ never given cause •previously for a medical examination. An inquest will be held at 7.30 this evening.
