BAND CONTEST.

TWENTY-ONE BANDS TO COMPETE. The number of brass bands now entered for the contest to be held at New Plymouth commencing on Monday, February 26, and continuing throughout that week has now been increased to 21, seven additional nominations having been received by the secretary since Wednesday night. In all, three entries have come from the South Island. 'The following arc the bands which have entered, in addition to the list of 14 published on Wednesday.— A Grade. Ist Canterbury Mounted Rifles, Dannevirke Municipal, Hastings Citizens’ Band, Wanganui Garrison. B Grade. Wellington Battalion Band, Patea Municipal Band.
