TWO ■MEN’ CHARGED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Taumarunui, Last Night. The hearing of charges against Jas. Ferdinand MacLaren and George Carolen Brennan of breaking and entering on February 21 at Taringamotu, the dwelling house of Haupapa Whakauruhanga and stealing £l7OO in cash and a post office bank book showing a credit of £BOO. was continued at the Court this afternoon. Seventeen witnesses were called, several of whom told how Brennan and McLaren, in conversation, described to them how the robbery was effected. Witnesses alleged that accused told them that two shots of gelignite were Cred in the safe before an opening was effected and the money removed. Accused pleaded not guilty and were committed for trial to the Supreme Court. Bail was allowed in two sureties of £5OO for each accused.
