BOROUGH MANAGEMENT.
A RESOLUTION AND A REPLY. The following correspondence has passed between the Taranaki Chamber of Commerce and the New Plymouth Borough Council: 25th October, 1922. The Mayor and Councillors, Borough of New Plymouth. Dear Sirs, —I am instructed to notify you that, at a largely-at tended meeting last evening of the council of this chamber and the executives of the Employers' Association and the Ratepayers’ Association, the following resolution was unanimously carried : “That this meeting protests against the reported contemplated action of the Borough Council in terminating the general managership scheme, end the consequent reorganisation of the staff, until the elections in April, when the matter of the retention or otherwise of the system can be considered by the ratepayers.” Vai Duff, Secretary to the Taranaki Chamber of Commerce. Sir, —I beg to inform you that your letter of the 25th ult. was read to the council last evening, consideration being deferred until the council meeting in January next. Frank E. Wilson, Mayor.
