BIRTH ON A LAUNCH.

POLICE CHARGE FAILS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. The grand jury returned no bill against Cecil N. Williams, charged with alleged carnal knowledge of a girl under the age of consent. The charge vas the outcome of a birth on a launch in the course of a harbor trip. In his charge to the grand jury Mr. Justice Herdman said it was not clear that the information had been laid within six months of the alleged commission of the offence, and if the jury concluded there was doubt they might find no bill.
