POSITION AT AUCKLAND. TWENTY-THREE HELD UP. NORTHERN COMPANY’S PLIGHT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. The crew of the Union Company s steamer Kaiwarra has given twentyfour hours’ notice. The crews of the Northern Company’s steamers- Arapawa and Aupouri were paid off to-day, following notice on Saturday. The ships affected total seven Union boats, fourteen Northern, and two belonging to the Richardson line. Auckland, Nov. 6. In the shipping trouble there are no fresh developments, except that part of the crew of the Union Company’s Kawatiri decided to cease work, and were paid off to-day, the remainder ot the crew having shipped to Australia.
