RELATIONS WITH BRITAIN. POLICY OF NEW PREMIER. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Nov. 5, 5.5 p.m. London, Nov. 4. The Daily Express’ Rome correspondent states that Signor Mussolini’s past threats against Britain, Jugo-Slavia, and Switzerland may now be forgotten. Interviewed yesterday he said his political campaign speeches must not be taken literally. He added: “The new Italian Government desires to live in the closest relations with Britain, and I hope the future actions of the Fascist Government will remove any bad impression that may have been created.” —Aub.-N.Z. Caible Association. DISTURBANCES BECOMING ISOLATED. COMMUNISTS DISOWNED. Rome, Nov. 3. Clashes between the Fascist! and the Socialists throughout the country have been isolated and are not serious. Some Socialist Mayors in the suburban areas of Milan were captured and compelled to swallow castor oil. Similar treatment was meted out to Socialist leaders in many other places. Genuine Fascist), assisted by the Carbinieri, stopped disturbances by the Naples hooligans, who masqueraded as Fascisti. Twenty were arrested and stolen property was recovered. After a month’s disturbances, in which pitched battles were fought between the Fascisti and Communists in Parma, a reconciliation has been reached. Even the dense working class areas of Rome are now peaceful, the workers having disowned the Communist leaders. SFORZA EXPLAINS. Rome, Nov. 3. Replying to Signor Mussolini, Signor Sforza says his decision to resign was due solely to his anxiety to remove difficulties from the path of the new Government, and is irrevocable, but he is prepared to remain in Paris pending the arrival of his successor, and to represent Italy at Lausanne. Signor Mussolini requested Signor Sforza to come to Rome immediately. Paris, Nov. 3. ■Signor Sforza (Italian Ambassador in Paris) has gone to Rome to consult Signor Mussolini.
