EXPORT OF LAMB.

AUSTRALIAN COMPETITION. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Nov. 3. The New Zealand Meat ProdiAers’ .Board has been making inquiries regarding the probable shipments of lamb from Australia to the United Kingdom during the present season, and has learned authoritatively that the most reliable estimate is 1,500,000 carcases, compared with 1,250,000 last season. During 'September and October 415,000 carcases were shipped, so the estimated balance will not be a formidable competitor when the shipments from New’ Zealand commence. The shipments of lamb from New 7 Zealand last season amounted to 4,750,000 carcases.
