RATEPAYERS’ POLLS. BOTH PROPOSALS CARRIED. (From Our Own Correspondent). Inglewood, Last Night. Two proposals were put before the latepayers to-day. One was for authority to raise a loan of £3OO for electrical purposes, and the other proposed a change in the rating system to rating on the unimproved value: The £3OO loan was carried by a big majority, and rating on the unimproved value was approved by a majority of 25. Details are:— £3OO Loan.

THE LATE MR. GUDGEON, The funeral of the late Mr. George Gudgeon took place at Ingle wood today and was largely attended. Members of Lodge Moa and a number of ether Masonic brethren attended. The Inglewood Bowling. Cricket and Golf Clubs and the Inglewood Club were strongly represented, while followers of these sports from New Plymouth to Hawera were present. An impressive service at the graveside was conducted by the Rev. R. J. Stanton, while the Masonic rites were conducted by Wor. Pro. G. Young. All business premises closed for an hour as a mark of respect, and when the cortege passed the school the children were lined up on the roadwav.
