WELLINGTON FATALITIES. WARNING TO PEDESTRIANS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Two inquests on motor fatalities wen held to-lay. Regarding Mrs. Mary Jane Lin tern, who was killed on Lambton Quay b\ a motor-car when passing from behind a tramcar, the coroner (Mr. Page) returned a verdict of accidental death, saying that had she taken ordinary care the accident would not have happened. There was no neglect on the part of the owner of the car. Mr. Page said pedestrians did not take enough care, and he also urged the need for definite crossing places. The coroner (Mr. Hunt) returned a verdict of accidental death regarding Clifford James Pritchard, a little boy. who was killed by a motor lorry at Miramar on October 20. The evidence showed that the ;boy tried to catch hold of the lorry, fell, and a wheel went over him. No blame was attached to the driver.
