GOVERNING IRELAND.
STORIES OF UNDERSTANDING. GROUNDLESS REPORTS. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received October 28, 12.45 a.m. London, Oct. 27. Dublin messages prove foundationless stories of a rapproachment between the Republicans and the Nationalists, who declared the former had proclaimed a Government with De Valera as president of the Republic, a so-called Ministry, including Mr. Barton, Mrs. Mary Mac Sweeney, Mr. Ginnell, Mr. Strack, Mrs. O’Callaghan and other ex-members of Dail Eireann defeated at the elections. The Colonial Office denies a report that the Irish Provisional Government has been assured that Irish damage will be regarded as chargeable to the British Exchequer. The Provisional Government made no such request and no bargain or understanding direct or indirect exists.
