If is officially stated that Mr. John Walter, in association with Major John Astor, has acquired (the interests of Lord Northcliffe and Sir John Ellerman in The Times newspaper. Received October 25, 5.5 p.m. London, Oct. 25. Mr. John Walter and Major John Jacob Astor announce that they will maintain the highest traditions of tile Times and ensure its continuance as a national institution, conducted solely in the best interests of the nation and the Empire.
