CHEAPER BREAD.
REDUCTION NEXT MONTH. NEW PRICE OF FLOUR. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Lost Night. By Orders-in-Council the maximum prices of flour and bread have beet, yeduced in accordance with the announcement made in the House recently by the Hon. W. J. Nosworthy. ‘The reduced price for flour is £l5 10s per ton f.o.b. southern ports. The reductions for bread in the main centres of the South Island, per 2 lb loaf, are s£d cash over the counter and 5Jd booked over the counter; fid cash on delivery and booked and delivered. The maximum prices of bread sold in the main centres of the North Island are |d per 2 lb loaf higher than in the South Island.
The change in the price of flour is effective from October 30 and of bread pricea from October 30 in the South Island, and November fi in the North Island. The Orders-in-Council will be gazetted this week, together with notification that the maximum bread' prices as at present specially fixed by the Board of Trade for small centres shall throughout the Dominion be reduced ’by Ad per 2 lb loaf.
