The totalisator handled £35,968 10s, an increase of £575 10s. Results:— MAIDEN HUNTERS’ STEEPLECHASE.—Tekapara 1, Raymond 2, Esplanade 3. Scratched: Fortlet, .Silver Lode, Plain Mac, Panchito. Won by half a length. Time, smin. 6 3-ssec. BARDO WIE HACK.—GoId Bud 1, Pretty Man 2, Heisler 3. Scratched: Tuipa, Gipsy Queen, Bright Day. Won by a head. Time, Imin. 16 2-ssec.
HUNTERS’ HURDLES.—Maude Wilson 1, Triboulet 2, Mia Bella 3. Scratched: Pink Lady, Wharepoa, Esplanade, Regardless, Fencer. Won by half a length. Time, 2min. 48 4-ssec. MEMBERS’ MEMORIAL. Marble Slab 1, Canowindra 2, Gold Kip 3. All started. Won by three and a naif lengths. Time, 2min. 8 4-ssec. WAIKATO HUNT CUP.—Nicomar 1, Glenotus 2, Tekapara 3. Scratched: Never Despair, Golden Abbey, Fortlet, Waikawa. Sylvia, Scarlet Raymond. Won by a neck, six lengths between second and third. Time, 6min. 14 2-ssec. FARMERS’ HACK—Lord Star 1, Malatour 2, Heieler 3. Scratched: Sprightful, Pretty Man, Proxyform, Penitentiary. Won by a length. Time, Imin. Itfsec. LADIES’ BRACELET.—The Curragh 1. Reretoa 2, Wharepoa 3. Scratched: Hypothesis, Nut and Bolt. Won by two lengths. Time, 2 min. 16 1-5 sec. INSTOW HANDICAP.—RoyaI Blood 1, Matinee 2, Queen Abbey 3. Scratched: King Abbey. Won by three lengths. Time, 1 min. 15 sec. An accident occured during the running of the Farmers’ Hack. While the field was racing across the top, Balcony and Milesian fell, and both were killed. P.. Conway, the rider of Milesian, broke a thigh, and L. Scott, the rider of Balcony, sustained a crushed leg and bruises.
