MELBOURNE WOOL SALES. By Telegraph.—Press Aseu.—Copyright. Melbourne, Oct. 18. The wool sales attracted a large gathering of buyers compared with the September series. Prices for merinos were 10 per cent, higher, and occasionally more, with bellies and pieces, i comebacks, and fine crossbreds also 10 per cent, higher, with medium 7y s per cenf. and coarse crossbred 5 per cent. GERMAN WOOL DEALING. London, Oct. 17. The Yorkshire Observer publishes the details of Germany’s wool dealings, snowing tnat in the seven months ended July last Germany purchased 316 million pounds of wool, which was exactly the same quantity as in the corresponding period of 1913. On the other hand Genmany’s exports of combed wool, yarns and manufactured goods were only about one-half the quantity exported in 1913, Thus the real Impetus behind Germany's buying of wool, despite the exchange and the reduction in the size of the population, is the Internal demand for clothing.
