TRAIN FARES DOWN AT HOME. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyrig?ht. Received Oct. 19, 12.5 a.m. London, Oct. 18. The railway companies in Britain announce that from January 1 third-class fares will be reduced to lAd a mile and first-class to 2sd, being a reduction of one-seventh on the present fares, or a reduction of 75 to 50 per cent, above the pre-war basis.
