EXPORT OF WHEAT.

FREEDOM GIVEN TO GROWERS. By Telegraph.—Press Association Wellington, Last Night. The Minister of Agriculture announced to-night that owing to the small response of farmers to avail themselves of the Government scheme for handling undergrade wheat, the Government had decided to abandon the scheme entirely and to allow free export. In order to comply with the provisions of the wheat trade regulations it will be necessary for exporters to make formal application for an export permit, but these will be issued for any quantity exporters may desire.
