MR. VIGOR BROWN GOES OVER. (By Wire.—Parliamentary Reporter.) Wellington, Last Night. The Government’s very secure majority wan increased formally by one today. The member for Napier (Mr. J. Vigor Brown), having announced himself as the official Reform candidate for the Napier seat at the general election, could, not continue comfortably to occupy a seat in the front Opposition benches, so he crossed the House. As there was no seat for him among the Government members, who already overflowed into the left cross benches, he strayed among his new colleagues during the sitting.
