DAIRY PRODUCE CONTROL.
EVIDENCE HEARD BY COMMITTEE. By Telegraph.—Press Association Wellington, Last Night. The Parliamentary Committee has heard a number of North Island witnesses in regard to the Dairy Produce Export Control Bill. South Island witnesses will be heard on Wednesday. MANGOREI DAIRY CO.’S RESOLUTION. At a meeting of the directors of the Mangorei Dairy Company, yesterday, it was resolved: “That the directors of this company are opposed to the proposed Dairy Produce Export Control Bill, now before Parliament, on the grounds that the compulsory clauses, if given effect to, means interfering with the rights and liberty of the producer, and creating an export tax by way of levy, which may become a burden on the dairy industry of the Dominion.”
