AUSTRALIAN MINERS.
COLLIERIES TO BE RE-OPENED. By Telegraph.—-Press Assn.—Copyright. Sydney, Oct 10. The Coal Tribunal commenced the hearing of the claim of the colliery proprietors for 33 1-3 per cent, reduction in the hewing rate and altered working conditions. The men’s representatives strongly objected to the application being heard before the southern miners’ claims had been decided. It is stated the men are willing to return to work on the terms and conditions of the award. Sydney, Oct. 11. The Coal Tribunal has ordered the whole of the south coast mines to be re-opened immediately and the miners to resume work on pre-stoppage conditions.
