Caulfield Cup scratching: Syce Knight. TARANAKI JOCKEY CLUB. The committtee of the Taranaki Jockey Club met last night. Present: Messrs. L. A. Nolan (chairman), W. C. Weston, W. T. Hookham, O. W. Sole, A. R. Standish, W. P. Nicoll, B. H. Chaney, J. McLeod, F. Orbell, and G. ; Fraser. An apology for absence was received ■ from Mr. L. B. Webster. It was decided to ask Mr. Cameron to act as judge at the autumn meeting. The question of assisting in the floral fete in aid of the Pukekura Park sports ground was discussed. It was decided to inform the committee that the club would not nominate a yqueen for the carnival, but would assist other sports bodies. A donation of £lO 10s was made to the Salvation ‘Army. The committee in charge of the circular road race was granted the use of the racecourse next Saturday. The resignation of a member of the club was received, and two nc-w members were elected. It was decided to charge the North Taranaki Hunt £25 for the use of the racecourse at its recent meeting. It was decided to hold a general meeting of the club to discuss the question of amending the club’s regulations under the Gaming Act. Tenders for the publican’s booth for the coming season will be invited as usual. Arrangements for the Christmas meeting were discussed. It was decided to issue 10s totalisator tickets outside and £1 tickets inside. Mr. L. Rea was appointed totalisator supervisor. The course committtee was instructed to carry out various improvements before the meeting. HAWERA STAKES, 1923.
