PLUNKET SOCIETY.

PAST MONTH’S ACTIVITIES. The monthly meeting of the Plnnket Society was held on Monday afternoon. Those present were Mesdames Homd (in the chair), Ambury, Weston, D. Brown, Wade, Cock Jenkin, H. Russell, Valentine, T. Shaw, Hay, Elliot, H. Fraser Roebuck, S. Russell, Loveridge and Stocker (hon. secretary). An apology was received from Mrs. Horne. Nurses, car, and finance reports were read and adopted. The 'business transacted was in con* neetion with “Baby Day, - ’ to be held at Kawaroa Park on Saturday, Nov. 18. Subscriptions for September are as follow:—Miss Curtis ss, Mesdames Wilsop ss, E. 'Shaw 10s, Sole ss, -Hair £l, Lovell ss, Millar £l, Fearon ss. Donations are: Mr. Wright (Urenui) 10s, Mesdames Henshaw £2, Lake Bs, Chaney (proceeds of bazaar) £2 7s. The nurse’s report for September was as follows:—Number of babies on the list (old) 254, new 21; visits paid, to homes (old cases) 267, (new) 25; visits received at office (adults) *266, (babies) 224; advice to expectant mothers, 9; telephone calls, 31; letters received and answered, 8; mothers shown how io make milk, 7; mothers who have received massage, 2; visits paid to Waitara, 5; new babies at Waitara, 6; visits paid to Inglewood, 4; new babies at Inglewood, 1.
