BIG INCREASE IN PRODUCTION. SEPTEMBER GRADING FIGURES. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Oct. 5. The butter graded for export by the Dairy Division during September was 105,805 ewt. salted, 5,145 cwt. unsalted—total, 110,950 cwt., compared 58,891 cwt. in September, 1921, an increase of 88.39 per cent. The total for the two months of the present season is 151,996 cwt., compared with 77,006 cwt. a year ago, an increase of 97.38 per cent. The cheese graded during September was 7933 cwt. white, and 4010 ewt. colored—total, 11,943 cwt., compared with 38,234 cwt. last year, a decrease oi 68.86 per cent. The total for the two months just ended is 12,311 cwt. compared with 39,850 last year, a decrease- of 69.10 per cent. Converting these figures into the but-ter-fat equivalent there is an increase of 65.28 per cent, in production compared with the corresponding two months of last season.
