WAR LIABILITY.

OUR DEBT TO BRITAISF. INSTALMENTS BEING PAID. (By Wire.—Parliamentary Reporter.) Wellington, Last Night. A cablegram recently published in the Press gave Australia the credit of being the only country to make a payment of both principal and interest on account of the war debt to Britain. The Prime Minister said to-day that Australia was not alone in what she had done. New Zealand had made a similar arrangement for the payment of principal and interest. Thia country’s debt amounted to £27,500,000, and from June 1 last it was being reduced on terms similar to those arranged by the Commonwealth.
