LABORER ADMITS THEFT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Waimate, Last Night. Walter Richard Wilson, aged 20, a laborer, pleaded guilty to breaking and entering and the theft of money and valuables totalling £323 ss. He was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence, bail in £lOO and two sureties of £lOO each being granted. FIRE AT CEMENT WORKS. Auckland, Last Night. A fire was caused at Wilson’s cement works at Warkworth, at 3 a.m. to-day, through a red-hot clinker from the rotary kilns overflowing the tank on to the floor of the mills. The damage is estimated at £2OOO. The early discovery of the fire prevented further extensive damage. Operations have not stopped. Later. Later information shows that the damage at Warkworth is about £3OOO. Work will be delayed three or four weeks, but the company has stocks to carry on for some time. The origin of the fire is not known.
