PEDIGREE JERSEY SALE.
A sale of considerable importance to dairy farmers, especially to Jersey fanciers, is to be held in the Egmont Agricultural and Pastoral Showgrounds on Wednesday next, when Messrs. R. P. Morrissey and Co., will hold their third annual sale of pedigree Jersey -bulls. This sale has attracted the best collection of Jersey sires that has yet 'been submitted at any sale of the kind in the district, and entries have been received from practically all the best known Jersey breeders in South Taranaki. All dairymen recognise that one of the most important factors for successful dairying is the selection of a good sire to head the herd, and an excellent opportunity is afforded at this sale to ensure this roost desirable result. The stock to, be offered are all descended from Jersey families of note, whose butter-fat records are undoubtedly of the very highest order, as shown by their official records, and a study of the tabulated pedigrees appearing in tl.e catalogue must appeal to all fanciers of the breed. The grade heifers to be ■sold are a magnificent lot and are a selection from the leading herds of the district. Catalogues may be obtained <>n application to the auctioneers, and full particulars of the sale will be found in our advertising columns. The sale is timed to start at 10T-) a.m punctually, and luncheon may be obtained on the grounds.
