INDEMNITY TO RUSSIA.

OUTCOME OF BOXER RISING. CHINA SUSPENDS PAYMENT. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Sept. 26, 9.45 p.m. Peking, Sept. 25. Despite warning from foreign Legations, and against the advice of Parliamentarians, who declare the step is unconstitutional, Cabinet has announced the suspension of the Russian Boxer indemnity, totalling seven million taels annually, and the issuance of a loan of ten million dollars, which will be absorbed by Peking bankers. It is expected the loan will bring the Government eight millions, which bankers insist must be spent in the payment of police and soldiers protecting the city and other loed administrative expenses. It is understood the Russian Soviet threatened reprisals for the suspension of the indemnity.—Aus.N.Z. Cable Assn.
