THE LATE MRS. DREW.
A TRIBUTE. The passing of Mrs. Drew, widow of the late Rev. William Drew, marks the removal from the community of one of its notable citizens, a lady who, by her gracious and winning personality, won the affection of a wide circle of friends. With her husband and family, Mrs. Drew arrived in New Plymouth in 1893. After a short residence at Westown. the family removed to “Bratton.” Pendarves Street, where the deceased spent the last twenty-five years of her life amid her loved books and flowers.- Though never robust, she took an active part in the life of the town, particularly in connection with the Baptist Church and the temperance organisation. Mrs. Drew was keenly interested in literature, and brought to the study of modern movement sand public men a bright intellect, a ripe judgment, and a loving heart. Simple in her tastes and refined in her manner, she carried in home and social life the grace and charm we associate with the best type of English gentlewomen.
