WATERSIDERS’ DISPUTE.
CASE BEFORE THE COURT. By Telegraph.—Press AssocHtlon. Wellington, Last Night. In connection with the watersiders’ dispute, Mr. J. Roberts opened the case for the Waterside Workers’ Federation, sketching the history of the various disputes which have arisen in connection with the waterside labor questions in dispute, as to conditions of labor, special attention being given to the question of casual labor on the waterfront. The industrial dispute which the Court nas to adjudicate upon, remarked Mr. Roberts, is probably the most important and intricate which has been before the C< rt in recent years; important, because it : a industry on which the effective and icient transportation of goods and merchandise depends upon, and intricate on account; of the casual system of employment.
