CYCLING.
ROUND-THE-MOUNTAIN RACE. THE NOMINATIONS. Forty-three nominations, coming from all parts of the North Island, and several from the South Island, have been received for the rov.nd-the-mountain cycle race, of approximately 100 miles, to be held on October 16. This race was a popular flfixture before the war, and as this is the first year of its revival, the interest displayed by the number of nominations is distinctly encouraging. Nominations closed on Saturday night with the secretary (Mr. E. L. Humphries), but several other*, which may have been posted before the closing date, are expected.
