CONTROL OF RAILWAYS.
BOARD OF EXPERTS FORMED. THE COMMERCIAL AGENTS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. A statement on the subject of change# in railway management was made by the Minister of Railways (the Hou. D, H. Guthrie) in the House to-day. He announced that Messrs. H. Bux-. ton (chief traffic manager at Wellington), F. W. McLean (chief engineer), and E. E. Gillon (chief mechanical engineer) had been appointed to constitute a board of experts to assist the general manager in order to free that officer to give more time to other features of an extending business. The Minister also announced that Mr. J. Mason had been appointed commercial agent for the North Island and Mr. F. A. Grant would occupy a similar position in tlie South Island. The commercial agents would take up theif positions immediately, and the board of experts would commence its activities as soon as the consequent reorganisation in the head office was effected.
