WATERSIDE WORKERS.
AN AWARD IN AUSTRALIA. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Sept. 11, 9.5 p.m. Melbourne, Sept. 11. In the Arbitration Court, Mr. Justice Powers fixed 2/9 an hour as the minimum rate of pay for all waterside workers, except men sorting timber, who receive 3/-. The working hours are not altered, and the men’s claims for extra pay for special cargoes and preference to unionists were refused. The union applied for 3/6, and the employers offered 2/7 an hour.'
