THE TRAIN ACCIDENT.

When it left the last stop at Stratford the train consisted of thirty-one vehicles, including the engine and van, and weighed about 400 tons, the big A.B. engine being capable of taking SOO tons. The breakdown gang commenced work early on Wednesday afternoon, a crane being used to lift the mangled trucks and wreckage out of the cutting on to the bank. The work was carried on with despatch on Thursday night. The passengers speak highly of the action of the driver and train men who did their best in a very difficult position.
