The first acceptances for the Epsom Handicap include Cupidon. Absurdum, Molyneaux and Loyal Irish. For the Metropolitan : Cupldony Molyneaux, Radiant. Light. Truthful, and Loyal Irish. The first acceptances for the Caulfield Cup include Molyneaux and The Cypher. For the Melbourne Cup: Cupidon, Kick Off, Truthful, Molyneaux and The Cypher. Gloaming’s brother. Lightning, which is racing in New South Wales, is stated to be still a long way from the winning list. At a recent Sydney meeting he was easily defeated. "Pilot" remarks : "I should not like to say Lightning would never win a race, but he will be a long time in earning the 1200 guineas he cost as a yearling. At present, it seems as if he Is going to add to the many failures bought at high prices because of their relationship to good performers.”
