At P.nndwlck, Gloaming galloped seven furJongs in 1.27—a record for the track —and showed all the dash and freedom that characterised early performances in Sydney. Beauford has been scratched for the Melbourne Cup. GLOAMING IN AUSTRALIA. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Sydney, August 31. Mr. Mason discounts a number of Press reports extolling Gloaming's gallops, and says they convey a wrong impression, as the perfonmances were bettered by others whose names were not featured at the same time. Gloaming is progressing satisfactorily, and he hopes the horse will be well forward a month hence, and expects him also to be in good trim for the meeting against Beauford in the Chelmsford Stakes on September 9. The remainder of the team are shaping well, with the exception of Farceur, who Is slightly lame.
