LOANS FROM BRITAIN.
PROCURING FURTHER DETAILS. (By Wire—Parliamentary Reporter.) Wellington, Last Night. A cablegram published recently stated that the Imperial Government was renewing its offer to guarantee loans raised by companies and Dominions which would undertake that the materials required for their works should be purchased in Britain. Mr. J. A. Nash (Palmerston North) mentioned this cablegram in the House of Representatives to-day, and asked if the Government could use this opportunity of obtaining money in order to relieve unemployment. Mr. Massey replied that the scheme was intended to assist British industry. He did not know that it applied to New Zealand, but he would be glad to ascertain the position. He had not had any communication from the Imperial authorities on the subject lately.
