WELFARE OF GIRLS.
INSTRUCTION IN SCHOOLS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch. August 30. At the conference of the National Council of the Women of New Zealand a remit from the executive, embodying a requ -t from the National Council of Women of Great Britain to support its efforts to secure for married women the same right to choice of nationality as was granted men was unanimously supported. A remit from the Dunedin branch reaffirming the non-party non-sectarian nature of the National Council was endorsed. Another remit from Dunedin that in every large school the responsibilities of the senior class mistress shall include special attention to health, morals and manners of th? girls, and the general supervision and teaching a correlated scheme of lessons in elementary physiology and hygiene and general oversight of all matters that especially affected the welfare of girls was adopted.
