THE PEOPLE’S. “The Truth about Husbands,” which screens for the last time to-night at the People’s, is adapted from Sir Arthur Wing Pinero’s brilliant stage play. It is a First National production and has an exceptionally well-balanced cast headed by May McAvoy. It deals in a startlingly interesting way with the ageold problem of how a man cannot have his fling without the danger of his escapades confronting him after marriage. The denouement of the play is perhaps as thrilling a climax as ever screened in a society drama. H. E,. Herbert plays Dunstan Renshaw, a. wealthy bachelor who is supposedly typical of his class. The play has been richly mounted and the titles abound in sparkling epigrams. Larry 'Semon is also on this programme in a screamingly funny comedy, “The Fall Guy.” EVERYBODY’S. FINAL SCREENINGS OF “OVER THE HILL.” The last two screenings of this wonderfully human picture are announced for to-day at “2.30 and 7.45. There is a special reduction in prices for the matinee sessions. “Over the Hill” is a simple story of a self-sacrificing mother’s devotion to her children; after bringing them all up she is neglected by them, and allowed eventually to go “over the hill” to the poorhouse. However, one boy turns out to be the exception ; he takes her out and establishes her in her home again. This is a picture which would move a cynic to tears, and makes one and all wonder whether they have done all they might have for their mother. Seats for the final screening to-night can be reserved at Collier’s any time during the day.
