DOMINION LADIES’ TOURNEY. YESTERDAY’S RESULTS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Napier, Last Night. The New Zealand ladies’ championship hockey tournament wa® continued today. The weather was again satisfactory and the interest of the public was maintained. Result®: — A Section —Marlborough drew with Wellington, 2 all. B Section —Hawke’s Bay A 6, beat Hawke’® Bay B 3; Poverty Bay 6, beat Wairarapa 2. Contrary to expectation® Marlborough fully extended Wellington, the equal champions with Poverty Bay last year. Mrs. Hogan netted the first goal, which was the only score in the first half. Wellington opened strongly on resuming and treated the to bright hockey. After 20 minutes’ play Miss Williams scored for Wellington. Miss Fairweather put Marlborough again in the lead by netting after some minutes’ strenuous play. Wellington’s second goal was also scored by Miss Willi;-.ms. When the Hawke’s Bay teams met the B’s opened well, but the* A team eventually proved superior, though at times play was of a very even nature. 'Miss Ward scored four goals for the winners, and Miss Lean and Miss Sharpley one each. Miss Scott scored the three for the losers. Wairarapa opened strongly against Poverty Bay and within two minutes Miss Parker netted. Bay of Plenty soon became aggressive and Miss Hill equalised. Miss Hei then scored and Miss Hill netted for Bay of Plenty. Mrs. Beuek added a goal for Wairarapa and Bay of Plenty scored two more.
