BATTLESHIP SUNK
FRANCE STRIKES A ROCK. Bv Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Paris, August 26. The battleship France was returning from manoeuvres when she struck a rock off Quiberon Bay and sank in 11 fathoms. Tiiree lives are reported to have been lost. (The France was a vessel of 23,095 tons, completed in 1914. She carried twelve 12in. guns and had a speed of 20 knots.)
