BLOWING UP A BRIDGE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Taumarunui, ’August .25. At the magistrate's Court, 'before Mr. F. W. Platts, Henry /LudwigHesebeck was charged with wilfully damaging a bridge at Kaitieke, the property of James Steen Hunter. He was committed to the Supreme Court at Hamilton for trial. The bridge was partially blown up be explosives. A FINE FOR BETTING. Dunedin, August 25. At the Police Court, William James Corkren was fined £2O for betting. He was arrested for drunkenness and betting cards and books were found on him. A CHARGE OF FRAUD. Auckland, August 25. At the Police Court Wm. Henry Terry was remanded to Gisborne on •charge of having, as liquidator of the Gisborne Farmers’ Co-operative Co., dpfrauded the company of £513. Bail was fixed at £750.
