Dawkins, for theft of a postal packet at Mangaweka, was sentenced to twelve months’ reformative detention with a recommendation that He be sent to an industrial school until he is 21 years of* age. • His Honor pointed out that the nature of the offence was one in which he could not grant probation, except in very exceptional circumstances, and commented on the seriousness of the offence of interfering with letters passing through the post office.
