WOOD ALCOHOL.
MANY DEATHS IN AMERICA. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright.. Received Aug. 24. 9.40 p.m. New York, August <23. The national committee for the prevention of blindness has issued statistics purporting to show that in the first half of 1922 wood alcohol caused 1.30 deaths and 22 cases of blindness. More than half the fatalities occurred in New York. New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and 103 of the 1.30 deaths were reported in the first twelve days of 1922.
