PRINTERS ON STRIKE.
NEWSPAPER NOT PUBLISHED. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Aug. 23, 11.10 p.m. Perth, August 23. The failure of negotiations between the Newspaper Proprietors’ Association and the Printing Employees’ Union over a new log formulated by the latter (including an increase of £1 a week in wages and four instead of two weeks’ holiday yearly) led lo the non-publica-tion of the newspaper West Australian on the last couple of days. The mechanical staffs of the other papers are adopting a similar attitude. The Court ordered the contestants to file their claims, and summonses have been issued against the union.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
