USE OF TROOPS RESENTED. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Aug. 23, 8.10 pjn. Montreal, August 22. The annual convention of the Dominion Trades Congress telegraphed to the Premier (Mr. MacKenzie King) protesting against the presence of Canadian troops on the Nova Scotia coalfields, pointing out that the strike is a hundred per cent, effective and can only be broken by military forces, which labor fears is the intent of the Government. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. An extensive strike on the coalfields of Nova Scotia was marked by serious outbreaks of disorders, and it was decided to send troops to maintain order.
