ATTITUDE TOWARDS BOKHARA. .xfy Telegraph.--Press Assn.—-Copyright. Delhi, August. 21. The Afghan Foreign Minister has issued a statement to the newspapers explaining the Afghan Government’s attitude towards the Bokharan rising. The reorganisation of the civil administration and military forces in the Afghan provinces, coinciding with the Bokharan disorders, did not mean a difference between Russia and Afghanistan. The latter did not wish to create trouble with its friendly neighbors. Russia and Bokhara. He further considers the Bokharan disturbances as a kind of internal disorder wherein the Russians and the Afghanistan have no right to interfere. Afghanistan remains neutral; she has no idea of world conquest. The Foreign Minister concludes by expressing confidence that the RussoAfghan relations will daily be directed towards strengthening the freedom and welfare of Bokhara and Khiva.
A Teheran cable states that 250 troops who were despatched by the Arabistan Government were ambushed in the Bakhtiari mountains and practically annihilated.
