CYCLE AND ATHLETIC UNION.
TARANAKI CENTRE. The annual general meeting of the Taranaki Centre of the New Zealand Cycling and Athletic Union was held at Eltham on Monday, Mr. A. Hansen presiding. ' The balance-sheet, which showed a credit balance of £56. together with the annual report were adopted without discussion. Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follows: President. Mr. R. Masters. M.P. ; vice-presidents. Messrs. T. C. Stanners and A. O Casev: executive. Messrs. A. Hansen (Manala) chairman. R. George (Waitara), W. S. Heves (Eltham), J. Shorter (Mldhirst). D. Malone (Kanonga), C. Burke (Auroa). and J. Patterson (Riverlea) ; secretary, Mr. A. Melville (Kaponga). At a subsequent meeting of the executive the disqualification of Walker, a running man was withdrawn, and another runner named Escreet was disqualified for such time as he holds prize money won as the result of giving wrong performances. Messrs. Hansen. Patterson and Malone were aopointed delegates to the Dominion conference. to be held at Eltham next month, and Messrs. Hansen. Melville and Heyes were appointed a committee to arrange for the entertaiu’nent of delegates.
