Sir James Allen, responding to the toast of his health, referred to the -New Zealand sheep-owners’ gift for the relief of distressed dependants of the navy and mercantile marine. He saia only £30.000 was as yet available for distribution. The sheep-owners realised their profits were possible 'because the seas were kept open for them. —-Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
