THE PEOPLE’S. LAST NIGHT OF “A WIDE OPEN TOWN.” To-night will see the final screening of the Selznick programme, headed by Conway TearJe in “A Wide Open Town.” The picture abounds in action and heart interest, growing in intensity as the story unfolds. The supports include the ninth episode of “Thunderbolt .Tack.” A truly brilliant screen photoplay is “The Son of Wallingford,” showing at the People’s to-morrow. It is the latest of the Wallingford series, although the production is in no sense a sequel to the previous Wallingford stories. It deals entirely with the adventures of the son. While all of the important characters of the original series are present there are in addition numerous new ones, who will prove as interesting as J. Rufus and his partner Blackie Daw. It is a picture with an intensely human appeal and some of the biggest scene spectacles have been staged in the feature. Wilfrid North is the leading star in a big cast. There will be no increase in the charges for admission.
